This Hamburger Stroganoff is one of my kids favorite go-to dinners. All 6 kids love to eat it, and I love how easy it is to make. I know the wheat world just adds a can of cream of mushroom soup to make it, but my kids LOVE that I make the Cream Soup from Irresistibly Gluten Free WITHOUT the mushrooms. Of course, you can add mushrooms if you’d like.

If you would like to make this meal Dairy Free as well, click here to go to the Dairy-Free Solution for Cream Soup Mix and leave out the sour cream or use a dairy-free sour cream substitute.

1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)

1/2 medium onion diced

2/3 cup Cream Soup Mix (page 14 Irresistibly Gluten Free)

2 cups water

1/2 cup sour cream

  1. Brown ground beef and onion together on stove in a deep frying pan till fully cooked.
  2. In a medium sauce pan mix the Soup Mix and water. While heating on medium-low, stir until sauce comes to a boil and thickens.
  3. Add sour cream to the soup and stir to mix thoroughly. Pour the sauce into the cooked ground beef and simmer on low until ready to serve.
I love this Stroganoff over brown basmati rice with vegetables on the side!
